CHAMPIONS OF LOCAL. Proudly independent. Committed to producing quality products.

New Brunswick’s craft alcohol industry is thriving, with over 100 breweries, wineries, cideries, meaderies and distilleries found in 48 communities across the province. New producers are entering the fold each year.

In fact, the industry mirrors the best things about our province: richness of diversity, commitment to quality, and using the best of what is naturally available.

Economic Impact

A craft alcohol industry economic impact study, conducted in 2021 by an economist with the Université de Moncton, reported a $24 million GDP contribution to the New Brunswick economy and 618 jobs. With the right conditions in place, the industry is projected to grow 47% within three years.

This would result in a GDP growth to $35 million and nearly 1000 direct jobs (four times that indirectly). These conditions require the elimination of regulatory barriers currently faced by the local industry and support by the industry’s most important strategic partner, NB Liquor.

We Are Here for You

Craft Alcohol NB is a strong voice for our province’s beer, wine, mead, spirits and cider producers. We advocate for the creators who bring the taste of New Brunswick to our region and beyond.

Together, our voice is stronger as we work to ensure our government recognizes the significant contributions we make to the province. We have succeeded in getting NB Liquor to implement the “don’t touch, don’t tax” policy, introducing the cross-selling pilot program, allowing our province’s smallest producers sell direct to consumers, and having the warehousing and distribution fee cut in half.

This is vital to helping us advance our strategic priorities:

  1. Sales threshold reform
  2. Fair markup structure
  3. Expanded market access
  4. Export development opportunities
